Join these delightful autumn walks at Westonbirt Arboretum with your family and experience autumnal changes first-hand. Discover the reasons behind them through games and challenges.
10:30am - 12:00pm:
Explore and collect the signs of autumn, investigate how animals keep themselves warm in winter, learn about the winter survival tactics that animals use, explore leaf diversity, and become seed explorers!
(Suitable for ages 3-8)
1:30pm - 3:00pm:
Discover why we have seasons and identify seasonal change in a woodland habitat, take part in a leaf bucket relay to learn about water movement in different trees, and try our ice experiment to explore the problems of water uptake of trees in winter! Create your own autumn colour bookmark at the end to take home.
(Suitable for ages 9-14)

Taking place in Westonbirt Arboretum’s Learning Centre, bring the kids and come along to this half-term event to discover the science behind autumn colour change.
The children can get creative and make their own autumn leaf crown, or autumn mobile!
Take part in the autumn colour challenge activity too, to see how many colours can be found in the arboretum.

Head across the Treetop Walkway at Westonbirt, The NationalArboretum into Silkwood.
Here you will find the resident coppicers from the arboretum in the Coppice Compound, selling and demonstrating traditional crafts ands kills.
Among them will be other makers and craftspeople. Blacksmithing, basketry, furniture, charcoal, jewellery, treen and coppice products will all be available to see and to buy.
Dogs are welcome in this area of the arboretum.

Westonbirt Arboretum is celebrating the 100 year anniversary of their sister arboretum, Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest!
As part of the celebrations, they welcome two artists from the Bedgebury Florilegium Society to the Autumn Wonders event 28-30 October providing you the chance to see and have a go at botanical drawing!
Whether you are a professional artist or are curious to dip a toe into the botanical art world, all are welcome to pop by and see them demonstrating their botanical illustration talents, and have a go at botanical drawing and colour mixing with their guidance!
The Bedgebury Florilegium Society currently have an outdoor exhibition of their botanical illustrations located along the path leading from the Welcome Building past the Treetop Walkway. Take a look whilst you are at the arboretum!
